Growing up in the “Space City”  I’ve been lucky to have experienced  NASA and our nations ever changing space program.  On October 8th, Houston made yet another giant leap toward preserving the history of space exploration, Space Center Houston became the city’s first Smithsonian Affiliate .Space Center

The Smithsonian Affiliations program gives the center access to the national archive of more than 138 million artifacts, specimens and works of art, as well as more than 50 traveling exhibitions through theSmithsonian Institution.

Space Center Houston currently has a $45 million impact on the greater Houston economy. The national recognition and exposure the center will receive through this program is expected to increase that figure along with annual visits.
